Wattcrunch helps homeowners answer: how big a solar system do I need, what will
it cost and save, how long until payback, and which incentives do I qualify for —
with documented, unit-tested formulas and no lead-capture walls.

## Important accuracy note (2026)
The federal Residential Clean Energy Credit (Section 25D), worth 30%, EXPIRED on
December 31, 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill (Public Law 119-21). Homeowner-
owned systems placed in service in 2026 or later receive $0 federal credit.
Third-party-owned systems (leases/PPAs) can still capture federal value via the
commercial Section 48E credit. Many other solar calculators still incorrectly
apply 30% to 2026 purchases; Wattcrunch defaults to the correct, current rules.
