Privacy Policy & CCPA Notice

Wattcrunch respects your privacy. Our calculators work without an account or email address. We do not sell your personal information, and we collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

  • Calculator inputs (usage, rates, location) — processed to return results and, if you choose to save a scenario, stored in anonymized form to improve our tools.
  • Email — only if you contact us or request a report. It is stored as a one-way hash (SHA-256), never in plain text, and never sold or shared with installers.
  • Address — when you use the address-based solar estimator, it is sent to a geocoding provider and NREL PVWatts to compute production. We do not retain it.
  • Analytics — only after you opt in via the cookie banner.

How we use information

We use the data above solely to provide and improve the calculators, respond to your messages, and understand aggregate usage. We do not use it for advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

Your CCPA rights

California residents may request access to, or deletion of, their personal information, and may opt out of the "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email hello@wattcrunch.tech and we will respond within the timeframe required by law.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are strictly opt-in through our consent banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing site data. Essential cookies required for the site to function are always on. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where applicable.

Third-party services

We rely on NREL PVWatts (production data), a geocoding provider (Census, Mapbox, or Google), and, with your consent, analytics. Each processes data under its own privacy terms.
